I am buying the 200 Series OME suspension from you, is there anything else I need to complete my lift on my 200 series? Posted by Mark Hawley Owner Metal-tech 4x4 on Jan 8th 2024 Question from RJ:I am buying the 200 Series OME suspension from you, including the front struts, springs, rear shocks and springs. Is there anything else I need to complete my lift on my 200 series? Answer:The kit for a 200 series with front struts/springs and rear shocks/springs is a complete kit for those trucks. We have installed this precisely for many customers w/o anything further and it performed great for them. UCAs or not? The lift on the front is not too extreme to require upper control arms (UCA) to be replaced. However, that is the only other thing SOME people have installed to help put the caster back to stock positions for wheel alignment. However, most that do this are pushing the tire envelope for the 200 with the most they can get, as in near the 33"+ tire size. So, staying down under the 33" size, probably 90% of lifted 200s out there do not run aftermarket UCAs. The good thing with aftermarket UCAs is that they can be added later with minimal additional effort. However, they do require another wheel alignment if added later.Sticking with the OME brand, these would be the UCAs added to your kit if you wished to do so:https://metaltech4x4.com/old-man-emu-upper-control-arms-200-series-land-cruiser/If you are running 285/70 R17s or slightly larger, there would be no need for aftermarket UCAs at this point; however, IF you plan to go to a larger size down the road and the budget allows the UCAs now, they are easy to install at the same time as the new struts. It will not hurt to have them right out of the gate. However, it is also not a requirement right out of the gate. We all have budgets for our builds, if you are missing other KEY offroad performance options like quality frame-mounted sliders like the ones MT4x4 builds, add those first. (ANY quality slider, of course; we are partial to what we build!)
